Proximity Charging

Looks like someone (the Korean’s in this case) has developed a means of proximity charging (charging batteries without cables) in a larger scale then cell phone batteries. In this case it is a trolley at the zoo, but such a method could really be interesting as it reduces battery size and does not requires stopping. [...]

24 times out

Well the news came out today – 24 has been cancelled after this season (it’s ninth). FOX is cancelling it due to shrinking ratings and NBC passed on picking it up. Full story at the New York Times here. I will miss 24 and I am sad to see it go. Nothing left on TV [...]

AP has updated the caption on a 65 year old picture from WWII. The photo has been captioned / associated with the Bataan Death March, yet it turns out the photo is actually of US military burying the dead at a prison camp (Camp O’Donnell) that was at the end of the Bataan Death March. [...]
