A colleague shared this at work today and I wanted to share this online. It is a piece by Hans Rosling made for the BBC which visually displays the stats of age and wealth in 200 countries over 200 years. Very cool stuff.

Found a interesting story at the New York Times. It seems that China, not a traditional chess playing nation or chess power house, has been turning out a few masters the last few years. Currently the most promising one is a 16 year girl named Hou Yifan who recently one a chess championship. Full story [...]
